Bino Salazar

COACH

Coach Bino started CrossFit because he was seriously worried about his health. After spending years being the “big guy” in the room and weighing almost 400lbs he decided to take his nutrition and fitness seriously. He began going to CrossFit Caliber regularly and through diligent, hard work and consistent nutrition he lost 150lbs in 5 years. “Although the work is never done, I am thankful to have the chance again to see my body jump boxes, jump ropes and lift weight.”

He now uses the CrossFit methodology to provide structure and balance in his life and uses his knowledge and experience to influence and help others to do the same. But beware, another passion of his is singing karaoke and one day he’ll get you to belt out a few songs with him! Bino has been coaching at CrossFit Caliber since 2020.

Carolyn Bajic

COACH

Coach Carolyn started CrossFit because she needed to save her own life. In High School she was a happy-go-lucky Cheerleader. Then her world fell apart when she was diagnosed with Lupus. Her doctors told her that she needed to slow down and take it easy. This went against every fiber of her being. So Carolyn did her own research and did the opposite, she cleaned up her nutrition, found CrossFit and dove headlong into it. Two years later her symptoms were almost non-existent and her doctors were left dumbfounded. To this day she credits the CrossFit methodology for saving her life and giving her the energy and lifestyle she never thought she would have again. Now, as a CrossFit Coach, she gives back to her community and teaches others how to turn their lives around like she did. But watch out, she loves CrossFit shoes and if you ask her about it, she will have you filling your closet with your own collection. Carolyn has been coaching at CrossFit Caliber since 2021.

CrossFit credentials: Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, CrossFit Kids, Judges Certificate, Barbell Rehab

What was your first CrossFit experience like?

I had no clue what CrossFit was, I started with a 6 week challenge and I was hooked. Here I am 7 years later still loving it!

How has CrossFit changed your life?

As someone with Lupus, being told that working out is not going to make you feel better but worse CrossFit proved that wrong. Its helped me get healthier physically and mentally.

Why did you become a CrossFit Coach?

I wanted to be a CrossFit coach to inspire others. No matter what obstacles get in your way you can get that PR, you can jump rope, you can run that mile.

I went to a Saturday class after finding a Groupon in September 2013 and was instantly hooked.

As a life long athlete it fulfilled my need to be active without having to play organized sports. I have made amazing friends while being able to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle that is never boring.

Why did you become a CrossFit Coach?

I wanted to learn more about CrossFit and the methodology behind it so I took the L1 course to learn from the best. I remember how every accomplishment and PR feels and love helping others have these experiences as well.

CrossFit credentials: Level 1 CrossFit Trainer

What was your first CrossFit experience like?
I was new to the area and I didn’t know anyone and my sister suggested looking up a CrossFit gym to meet some people. I found Caliber and the first time I walked into the gym there was a woman attempting a pull-up. Everyone in the gym was standing around the rig and cheering her on. There was a lot of encouragement and excitement, and the moment she achieved her goal and got that pull-up everyone standing there hugged and high-fived her – as if their own goals had been accomplished. It was that moment I knew the CrossFit Community was not like any other.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
CrossFit has changed my life for the better. I am not only healthy, but I have found a supportive and positive community filled with life-long friends.
Why did you become a CrossFit Coach?
My whole life I have done sports because I loved the challenge and the ability to push myself to become better. CrossFit gave me that opportunity to push myself beyond what I thought was possible. It made me faster, stronger, and overall fitter than I ever thought was possible. I became a coach so I can show and teach others that their goals are achievable, and provide motivation to keep hungry for more.

Kelly O’Reilly

COACH

Coach Kelly has a passion for learning and teaching. An educator by profession, she holds several bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education. With this she dedicates herself to teaching and training Special Olympics athletes. She is also the coach of the Special Olympics Team Illinois powerlifters. As a lifelong teacher, coaching CrossFit only comes natural to her. Everyone has their own way of learning, and they have their own individual limits and strengths. She adeptly recognizes them and coaches each of her students in the way that works for them. When she’s not teaching she spends her off time with photography and reading, and she loves hanging out with family and her dog. Kelly has been coaching at CrossFit Caliber since 2016.

CrossFit credentials: Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, CrossFit Rowing

What was your first CrossFit experience like? Just walking in the door was one of the hardest things I had ever done. I could tell right away that the community at Caliber was amazing and the people I had just met were encouraging and helped me finish the workouts. I could barely walk the next day and I knew it was exactly what I needed so I went back. That was in September 2013 and I’m so glad I took that first step.

How has CrossFit changed your life? CrossFit has taught me that I can do a lot more than I ever thought I could. I am more confident, stronger physically and emotionally. I know what my body can and cannot do and I strive every day to help people learn the same about themselves.

Why did you become a CrossFit Coach? I love learning new things and I love CrossFit. With my background as an educator, I knew the teaching part, but I wanted to learn all the reasons why we do what we do in CrossFit.

Arnel Delosreyes

OWNER / HEAD COACH

Arnel’s passion is in exploring and pushing the limits of the human body, mind and spirit. Graduating college with a degree in Criminal Justice, he spent his early career in the private investigation and security industry. As violent crime peaked in the 90’s the demand for private security boomed. Because of this, he created a new standard for security officers at his firm. He developed crisis management, self-defense, crime prevention, first aid and physical fitness programs and trained his officers to become the best in the field. During his years as a Security Director this new standard caught the eye of several agencies and soon thereafter they hurried to follow suit. Accomplishing everything he wanted in this industry, he then left his firm to attend law school and became a Criminal Prosecutor in the Office of the State’s Attorney. After a total of twenty-one years in the Crimimal Justice field he found CrossFit and discovered that it jibed with everything he practiced and stood for. CrossFit’s principles of total development of physical ability and mental and spiritual toughness led him to dive deeper and become a CrossFit trainer. Realizing that this was what he was and wanted to do, he began training students in his garage. From there he opened CrossFit Caliber where he continues his passion to this day. Arnel has been teaching the CrossFit methology since 2010.
