Have you done the Open before? If so how many times?
Yes, two times.
What are you looking forward to in the Open?
Seeing everyone’s PRs, cheering people on, seeing how much people have improved and watching people surprise themselves with what they are capable of.
What are you not looking forward to?
Having to “no rep” people while judging.
Are you anticipating a “first” in the Open, like a first Pull-up, Box Jump or Muscle up? How about a PR?
I hope to string together a few bar muscle ups or do a ring muscle up in a workout. I also hope I survive the RXed burpee standard.
When you get into that “dark place” in a workout how do you get through it?
Just go. The sooner I get it done, the sooner I can rest.
Favorite workout music or song?
I don’t really hear the music while working out.
If you were to choose either “Murph” or “Fran” for a workout of the day which one would it be?
I like… (fill in the blanks) starting my day at Caliber. I never leave there feeling bad. Though the 5:30am crew has changed several times over the past 4 and a half years, I look forward to working out and laughing with these people. I like coming back at night or on the weekend to check in with the rest of the Caliber crew. I like the friendly competition, the parties, the outings, the friendships I have built, the support system we have, and watching everyone’s progress and gains. I like that it never gets easy and that there is always something to improve on.
