Workouts or movements I like to do:
Any leaderboard workout or workouts we come back to. This way I can see how I have improved from the last time I performed the same WOD!
I need to improve on:
There are still several things I need to improve on such as double-unders, ring dips (to achieve that muscle up!!) and lifting technique in general. But I am sure there will always be something I need to improve on, it is what makes it all that more exciting when I finally nail it!
Have you done the Open before? If so how many times?
This will be my first open! I am anxious, nervous and excited!
What are you looking forward to in the Open?
I am looking forward to competing with others side by side, the atmosphere and cheering each other on!
What are you not looking forward to?
I really, really hope there are not any wall balls.
Are you anticipating a “first” in the Open, like a first Pull-up, Box Jump or Muscle up? How about a PR?
I am hoping to RX all of the workouts, including double-unders – even if it means I have to do single, double, single to get through it!
When you get into that “dark place” in a workout how do you get through it?
I have always been involved in sports where the mentality is just as daunting as the physical aspect. To get through it, I picture myself of where I want to be and accept nothing less. If I leave everything behind, then I know I have no regrets.
Favorite workout music or song?
Anything upbeat but for now – “We Own It”
If you were to choose either “Murph” or “Fran” for a workout of the day which would it be?
Murph, definitely Murph!
I like what this sport has taught me – that you can be as good as what you mentally and physically strive yourself to be; but most of all I love this gym and the community within it! I have never met so many supportive and kind people, it is definitely like a little family that embraces everyone with open arms. The parties, the games, the fun, the cheering section and the intensity; it is what makes all of this worth coming back for more!
