Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
I randomly worked out and wasted lots of money on gym memberships that I never used.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?
I bought a groupon. I was about to turn 40 and wanted to a change for the better and found CrossFit.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after)
I’ve seen so many changes. When I started I weighed 25 pounds heavier and so unhealthy and out of shape and that first WOD almost killed me LOL… but I survived and keep coming back for more.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
The way I feel is the biggest change. I feel great, I can run without feeling like I’m going to die. I was able to go into a kidney donation surgery and bounce back from that without any problems, which I would have never been able to do before CrossFit. I know that because of CrossFit I was able to save my husbands life and keep going like nothing happened.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFC moments.
My favorite so far has been completing Murph Rx’d with a 20 pound vest. It took an hour but I did it!
Any advice for people just getting started?
Don’t be scared… go all in… and keep going! It doesn’t get easier and you get stronger!!!!
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I love spending time with my family. I enjoy baking, reading, running and scrapbooking.
